The old lady

Manchester
A cosy town called Manchester (lies) high in the montains on the island of Jamaica. (Unfortunately), the prices for even the most simple products are (outrageous) because of the great dependency on (imported) goods.

Have you ever (*nachgedacht/ th___/thought) about fashion and (how) it has changed? Twenty years (ago) I (wore) pants with wide (#cuffed/cuffed = ausgestellten, aufgeschlagenen) legs. Now I, and most other people my age, (wear) looser fitting jeans with (narrow) cuffs. Twenty-five years ago, orange, green and yellow were very popular. Today, most people (prefer) earth tone colours.

Sleep

Martha Mills is a fourty year old woman (who) was admitted for Farmers County General Hospital for an operation on her (broken) toe. She is feeling much better now that her toe has (healed), but she refuses to leave the hospital. Mrs. Mills says she feels content in her new hospital bed and that the food they (serve) is superb. The doctors and nurses are (trying) to (persuade) Mrs. Mills to go home. The room she (*belegt/o___/occupies) is (desperately) needed by (patients) with more serious (injuries) and illnesses.
