  5.                       PURPOSE
  6. #######################################################
  7. SWBCapture is a screen capture utility that allows
  8. you to quickly and easily capture an image of any window
  9. on your desktop, or the entire desktop.  The application
  10. does not support capturing of random areas of the 
  11. desktop, only individual windows.
  12.  
  13. The application can be configured to save all captures
  14. to the clipboard, to a named file (prompted at time of
  15. capture), or "autosaved" to a temporary file in a
  16. directory of your choice.  
  17.  
  18. The application can save captured images to BMP, JPG,
  19. or GIF format, and supports variable amounts of 
  20. compression/quality for JPG formatted images.

  23.                       USAGE

  25. To use the application, simply run the SWBCAP.EXE and
  26. click the Options button.  
  27.  
  28. Select how you would like the captured windows saved: 
  29. to the Clipboard, to a named file (prompted at capture
  30. time) or Autosaved to a temp file.  If you choose Auto-
  31. Save, you should also select a directory below by
  32. clicking the button with the Folder on it to browse
  33. the directory tree for a folder.  Additionally, when
  34. Auto-Save is selected, you can select to save files
  35. with sequential file numbers appended to the name,
  36. or with random file names.  The Base Name field
  37. allows you to specify the starting portion of the 
  38. file name before the sequential number or the 
  39. random number.  If you leave the Base Name field
  40. blank, 'CAP' is used as the base name for all
  41. auto-saved images.

  43. If you have chosen to capture the window images to 
  44. a file, you should then select the image type: BMP 
  45. (bitmap), JPG, or GIF format.  If you select JPG
  46. format, you should use the slider to choose the 
  47. quality of the image you want to save.  The higher
  48. the quality you choose, the larger the resultant
  49. physical image file will be.

  51. Click OK to save the options, and return to the 
  52. main window.

  54. To capture a screen, simply drag the small window
  55. icon (using your left mouse button ) off of the 
  56. SWBCapture window and over another window.  The 
  57. cursor will change to a crosshairs when you begin 
  58. dragging it.  It can then be dropped on any other 
  59. window.  When you release the mouse button, the 
  60. window under the cursor is captured.  A sound is made 
  61. to confirm that the capture has occurred.  Make sure
  62. you are not dragging the entire SWBCapture window. 
  63. You should only drag the small window "icon" displayed
  64. in the SWBCapture window.

  70. place of business.
