EUDORA FOR MACINTOSH VERSION 2.1.4 MAINTENANCE RELEASE
The following changes were made for this maintenance release:
- Turned off asynchronous I/O during Eudora startup
- Moved Toshiba patch to a plug-in file
- Corrected slow 68K typing problem
- Fixed segmentation problem that caused trouble with Apple Events
on 68K macs
- Tweaked settings file flush strategy
- Fixed problem in "lock program in memory"
- Fixed a couple potential AE problems
- Fixed problem reading mailserver external-bodies
- Flushing settings file more often
- Added slight pause for dialup ph
- Worked around bug in GV 5300 ethernet card (See "Sending Mail"
in "Settings".)
- Fixed 1522-encoder and isalnum
- Fixed PPtrFindSub
- Connection break during UIDL no longer leads to redownload
- Uuencode properly adding content-disposition
- Xfer of unsent getting proper origZone
- Logging paramtext
- Cancelled DNS requests
- Line-length problem in GetLine
- Option-space in nicknames fixed
- AE get body of composition windows no longer causing a problem
INSTALLING THE 2.1.4 MAINTENANCE RELEASE
To update your Eudora Pro software, do the following:
1. Download the appropriate 214 updater file to your machine:
eudora214.hqx for users with a "680x0" install
eudora214fat.hqx for users with a "Universal" install
eudora214ppc.hqx for Power Macintosh users with a "PowerPC" install
2. If necessary, unstuff the file archive.
3. Double-click on the Eudora updater file. An installer file dialog
is displayed.
4. Select your existing Eudora application file and click on "Update."
The updater installer will prompt you through the update process.
Be aware that the updater program will only work on unmodified copies
of Eudora 2.1.3. If you have changed the program with a resource editor
(i.e., Resedit), or you are using a version prior to 2.1.3, the updater
will not work.
If you are having trouble using the updater, re-install Eudora Pro using
your master disks.
