  24.  Important - Please read the following terms and conditions.
  25.  Downloading any component of the OS/2 Warp Update Kit indicates
  26.  your acceptance of the following terms and conditions:
  27.  
  28.   a)  You may only use the OS/2 Warp Update Kit if you are a
  29.       current licensee of OS/2;
  30.  
  31.   b)  You may make copies of the OS/2 Warp Update Kit equal to
  32.       the number of licensed copies of OS/2 you possess;
  33.  
  34.   c)  You may only use the service fixes included with FixPak
  35.       XR_W017 for maintenance purposes;
  36.  
  37.   d)  You may only use the Win-OS/2 service fixes included with
  38.       FixPak XR_W017 to maintain copies of OS/2 with Win-OS/2;
  39.  
  40.   e)  If you use the OS/2 updates you agree to destroy all your
  41.       copies of the code it replaces;
  42.  
  43.   f)  All other terms and conditions of your OS/2 license
  44.       agreements apply to the OS/2 Warp Update Kit; however,
  45.       this does not extend and warranty and/or services
  46.       including but not limited to the "Getting Started" period
  47.       outlined in such agreements.

  49.  IBM OS/2 Warp Update Kit Components Descriptions
  50.  ------------------------------------------------
  51.  The components that comprise the current OS/2 Warp Update Kit
  52.  are:

  54.   A) IBM Developer API Extensions for OS/2
  55.  
  56.   - Description:
  57.  
  58.   The IBM Developer API Extensions for OS/2 component provides
  59.   a subset of the WIN32 APIs on OS/2 which will help you with
  60.   your migration of Windows 95 and Windows NT applications to OS/2.
  61.   The IBM Developer API Extensions for OS/2 expand OS/2 APIs and
  62.   messages.  It allows application developers to maintain a similar
  63.   code base for 32-bit Windows and OS/2 Warp applications, and
  64.   provides over 700 new APIs that are consistent with Windows APIs.

  66.   - WARPDAX Package files: daxinst1.img, daxinst2.img, warpdax.txt
  67.  
  68.   - Space requirements:

  70.   You need two 1.44 MB, 3.5-inch diskettes to create
  71.   diskette images from daxinst1.img and daxinst2.img.
  72.   You also need 3 MB free on your hard drive.

  74.   B) IBM OS/2 Warp Security Enabling Services (OS/2 SES)
  75.  
  76.   - Description:
  77.  
  78.   The IBM OS/2 Warp Security Enabling Services (OS/2 SES) are a set
  79.   of extensions to the OS/2 operating system services.  These
  80.   extensions enable application developers to create an external
  81.   security component, called an Installable Security Subsystem
  82.   (ISS).
  83.  
  84.   The Installable Security System provides operating system
  85.   security services such as user identification and
  86.   authentication (logon), resource access control and audit, process
  87.   security context and trusted program support, and security
  88.   policy administration tools.
  89.  
  90.   - WARPSES Package file: security.bbs, warpses.txt
  91.  
  92.   - Space requirements:
  93.  
  94.   The IBM OS/2 Security Enabling Services package is 1
  95.   MB in size.  You need an additional 1.5 MB of free space
  96.   available before you can unpack the security.bbs file.

  98.   C) OS/2 Warp FixPak XR_W017
  99.  
  100.   - Description:
  101.  
  102.   The OS/2 Warp FixPak XR_W017 provides the latest level
  103.   of corrective service to your OS/2 Warp system.

  105.   - XR_W017 PACKAGE file: XR_W017.1DK through XR_W017.8DK, READ17_1.TXT,
  106.                           READ17_2.TXT

  108.   - Space Requirements:

  110.   See the READ17_1.TXT file included in the package for space
  111.   requirements for your system (or README.1ST XR_W017.1DK).k

  113.   D) OS/2 Warp Printer Presentation Driver FixPak XR_WP16

  115.   - Description:

  117.   The OS/2 Warp Printer Presentation Driver FixPak XR_WP16 provides
  118.   the latest available printer device drivers for your OS/2 Warp system.

  120.   - XR_WP16 Package file: xr_wp16.1dk, xr_wp16.2dk, xr_wp16.rm1

  122.   - Space Requirements:

  124.   See the README.1ST file included in the package for space
  125.   requirements for your system.

  127.  Installation Requirements
  128.  -------------------------

  130.  You must install OS/2 Warp FixPak XR_W017 (or later) before installing
  131.  any other component.  If you do not have the OS/2 Warp FixPak XR_W017
  132.  (or later) installed on your system, you can download it from the same
  133.  place (BBS or Internet site) you got this package from.
  134.  
  135.  You will need the OS/2 Warp 3.0 Corrective Service Facility boot disks
  136.  to install this FixPak. These files should be available from the same
  137.  place (BBS or Internet site) you got this package as:
  138.  
  139.     WKICKR.ZIP   - File compressed with PKZIP. Contains Corrective
  140.                    Service Facility disk images. Requires PKUNZIP
  141.                    or UNZIP to extract original files from compressed
  142.                    file.
  143.  
  144.  To create diskettes from the disk image files you need LOADDSKF.EXE.
  145.  This is also available from the same place you got this package.
  146.  
  147.     LDF.COM      - Self extracting file that will create LOADDSKF.EXE.
  148.                    Place in a separate directory on your harddisk then
  149.                    enter LDF.
  150.  
  151.        - or -

  153.     LOADDF.ZIP   - File compressed with PKZIP, contains LOADDSKF.EXE.
  154.                    Requires PKUNZIP or UNZIP to extract original files
  155.                    from compressed file.

  157.  Note: LOADDSKF.EXE is also on any CD-ROM version of OS/2.
