Downloading any component of the OS/2 Warp Update Kit indicates your acceptance of the following terms and conditions: a) You may only use the OS/2 Warp Update Kit if you are a current licensee of OS/2; b) You may make copies of the OS/2 Warp Update Kit equal to the number of licensed copies of OS/2 you possess; c) You may only use the service fixes included with FixPak XR_W017 for maintenance purposes; d) You may only use the Win-OS/2 service fixes included with FixPak XR_W017 to maintain copies of OS/2 with Win-OS/2; e) If you use the OS/2 updates you agree to destroy all your copies of the code it replaces; f) All other terms and conditions of your OS/2 license agreements apply to the OS/2 Warp Update Kit; however, this does not extend and warranty and/or services including but not limited to the "Getting Started" period outlined in such agreements. IBM OS/2 Warp Update Kit Components Descriptions ------------------------------------------------ The components that comprise the current OS/2 Warp Update Kit are: A) IBM Developer API Extensions for OS/2 - Description: The IBM Developer API Extensions for OS/2 component provides a subset of the WIN32 APIs on OS/2 which will help you with your migration of Windows 95 and Windows NT applications to OS/2. The IBM Developer API Extensions for OS/2 expand OS/2 APIs and messages. It allows application developers to maintain a similar code base for 32-bit Windows and OS/2 Warp applications, and provides over 700 new APIs that are consistent with Windows APIs. - WARPDAX Package files: daxinst1.img, daxinst2.img, warpdax.txt - Space requirements: You need two 1.44 MB, 3.5-inch diskettes to create diskette images from daxinst1.img and daxinst2.img. You also need 3 MB free on your hard drive. B) IBM OS/2 Warp Security Enabling Services (OS/2 SES) - Description: The IBM OS/2 Warp Security Enabling Services (OS/2 SES) are a set of extensions to the OS/2 operating system services. These extensions enable application developers to create an external security component, called an Installable Security Subsystem (ISS). The Installable Security System provides operating system security services such as user identification and authentication (logon), resource access control and audit, process security context and trusted program support, and security policy administration tools. - WARPSES Package file: security.bbs, warpses.txt - Space requirements: The IBM OS/2 Security Enabling Services package is 1 MB in size. You need an additional 1.5 MB of free space available before you can unpack the security.bbs file. C) OS/2 Warp FixPak XR_W017 - Description: The OS/2 Warp FixPak XR_W017 provides the latest level of corrective service to your OS/2 Warp system. - XR_W017 PACKAGE file: XR_W017.1DK through XR_W017.8DK, READ17_1.TXT, READ17_2.TXT - Space Requirements: See the READ17_1.TXT file included in the package for space requirements for your system (or README.1ST XR_W017.1DK).k D) OS/2 Warp Printer Presentation Driver FixPak XR_WP16 - Description: The OS/2 Warp Printer Presentation Driver FixPak XR_WP16 provides the latest available printer device drivers for your OS/2 Warp system. - XR_WP16 Package file: xr_wp16.1dk, xr_wp16.2dk, xr_wp16.rm1 - Space Requirements: See the README.1ST file included in the package for space requirements for your system. Installation Requirements ------------------------- You must install OS/2 Warp FixPak XR_W017 (or later) before installing any other component. If you do not have the OS/2 Warp FixPak XR_W017 (or later) installed on your system, you can download it from the same place (BBS or Internet site) you got this package from. You will need the OS/2 Warp 3.0 Corrective Service Facility boot disks to install this FixPak. These files should be available from the same place (BBS or Internet site) you got this package as: WKICKR.ZIP - File compressed with PKZIP. Contains Corrective Service Facility disk images. Requires PKUNZIP or UNZIP to extract original files from compressed file. To create diskettes from the disk image files you need LOADDSKF.EXE. This is also available from the same place you got this package. LDF.COM - Self extracting file that will create LOADDSKF.EXE. Place in a separate directory on your harddisk then enter LDF. - or - LOADDF.ZIP - File compressed with PKZIP, contains LOADDSKF.EXE. Requires PKUNZIP or UNZIP to extract original files from compressed file. Note: LOADDSKF.EXE is also on any CD-ROM version of OS/2.
