  8.         Introduction:
  9.         -------------
  10.         This archive contains a full implimentation of the Chuck
  11.         Forsberg rz and sz, Zmodem receive and send programs.
  12.         Please read the "mailer.rz" file included in this archive
  13.         for information on proper registration of this software.
  14.  
  15.         This is a complete re-port of the Zmodem software based on
  16.         rz/sz version 3.36 from Omen Technology. Many fixes have
  17.         made to the OS-9 version that were not in previous releases.
  18.         There has been vast increases in throughput, especially in
  19.         the 6809 version.

  21.         Using:
  22.         ------
  23.         Both rz and sz expect that the modem is on the standard input
  24.         path (STDIN). Check the individual rz and sz .doc file for
  25.         options available. Typical calling procedure from a terminal
  26.         program would be to drop out to a shell from the terminal
  27.         program, and then type:
  28.             rz [-options] </t2
  29.         or                             
  30.             sz [-options] file(s) </t2
  31.         You can use "-vv" as an option to have transfer progress
  32.         reported to the screen, more v's give more info, but to a log
  33.         file. Some terminal programs support defining extensions to
  34.         external programs, consult your user manual for your terminal
  35.         program for adding extensions.

  41.         source available to the public, without which, this package
  42.         would not have been possible. Thanks to Maurice (Gene) Heskett
  43.         for his assembeler optimizations to the 6809 version of this
  44.         program, and for his enthusiasm and patients. Gene put a lot of
  45.         work into cleaning up the code for the CoCo, and pushing up
  46.     the efficiency quite a bit on the CoCo.. Thanks to Eddie
  47.         Kuns for lending me some code to make the OS-9/68000 port work.
  48.         Thanks to Bob Santy for writing the m6809 Emulator for
  49.         OS-9/68000, which made it possible for me to keep the 6809
  50.         version of this package up to date. And finally, thanks to
  51.         all the other people out there that used previous versions
  52.         of rz/sz of OS-9, and gave me sugestions for improvement and
  53.         bug reports, and for encouraging me to continue supporting
  54.         this port.

  67.         This will most likely be the last release of the OS-9 Zmodem
  68.         port I will do. I simply don't have the time to maintain the
  69.         code any more.
