  7. ASQ is a systems analysis and turorial utility which can be used to
  8. inspect a PC's setup as well as learn about the inner workings of the
  9. machine.  In addition to providing an extensive hardware summary which
  10. lists critical information about the system, ASQ also offers
  11. diagnostic reports concerning low and high DOS usage and EMS/XMS
  12. memory allocation.    The on-line tutorial provides an introduction to
  13. memory management issues and terms.  ASQ has the ability to inspect
  14. system configurations and recommend changes to increase system
  15. performance and optimize resource allocation.

  17. Though ASQ is extremely useful as a stand alone utility, the program
  18. also provides a valuable feature which aids troubleshooting across
  19. multiple systems.  The SNAPSHOT feature allows diagnostic information
  20. to be saved to a file for later comparison on another PC with ASQ
  21. installed.    Since ASQ functions independently of Qualitas MAX, the
  22. SNAPSHOT and summary information are quite helpful if the need arises
  23. to contact Qualitas Technical Support.

  32. If you are experiencing problems when running ASQ, the issue can
  33. probably be resolved by using a command line parameter or ASQ
  34. configuration option.  Command line options are specified when
  35. invoking ASQ at the DOS prompt (i.e.  ASQ /V ). Options such as:
  36.  
  37.     /B    force monochrome mode
  38.     /C    force color mode
  39.     /V    inhibit graphics logo on startup
  40.  
  41. can be used to work around video issues.

  43.     NOTESTDISKCACHE      disables disk cache diagnostics on startup
  44.     NOTESTEMS             disables EMS memory diagnostics on startup
  45.     NOTESTMEM             disables memory map diagnostics on startup
  46.     NOTESTVGA             disables VGA video diagnostics on startup
