GameInfo
--------
Version 2.3
Copyright (c) 1993 by TASsoft, All Rights Reserved.
GameInfo shows the contents of recorded LINKS 386 Pro games. You don't
have to start LINKS 386 Pro to view the information stored in a
recorded game anymore. GameInfo will display the score, the creation
date and all other available information. The retrieved information can
also be written to a file.
The usage is easy. I recommend that you copy GameInfo to your Links 386
directory. Then just type
GAMEINFO filename.rec
at the DOS prompt.
Please note that the extension '.rec' is optional.
Use the switch '/W' if you want to write the contents of a recorded
game to a file. There are several options when using this switch:
a) If you specify a filename after the /W, the output will be written
to a file with this filename.
b) If you don't specify a filename, the output file will have the same
name as the recorded game plus the extension '.inf'.
c) If the filename contains the wildcard '*' and you use the switch /W,
the contents of each matching recorded game will be written to the
standard output file 'filename.inf' in the directory where the games
reside.
d) If the filename contains the wildcard '*' and you don't use the /W
switch, the contents of all matching recorded games will be written
to the file 'recfiles.inf' in the directory where the games reside.
Here are some examples:
a) GAMEINFO mygame.rec /W
will display the contents of 'mygame.rec' on the screen and write
them to the file 'mygame.inf'
b) GAMEINFO e:\games\links386\mygame.rec /W outfile.txt
will display the contents of the game 'mygame.rec' in the directory
games\links386 on drive e: on the screen and write them to the file
'outfile.txt'
c) GAMEINFO harb*
will write the contents of all recorded games matching 'harb*.rec'
to the file 'recfiles.inf'
d) GAMEINFO c:\links386\mauna* /w
will write a standard contents file ('filename.inf') for each
recorded game matching 'mauna*.rec' in the directory c:\links\386
If you start GameInfo without a filename it will display a short usage
instruction on the screen.
You can also start GameInfo from a batch file. After ending it will
return the following Errorlevels that you can check:
Errorlevel 0: Normal Termination
Errorlevel 1: No Files Matching The Given Wildcard Found
Errorlevel 2: Specified File Not Found
Errorlevel 3: Specified File Is Not A Recorded Game
Errorlevel 4: Directory Not Found
Errorlevel 5: No File Specified
