  3. Thank you for trying Help Assistant.  This Word for Windows 6.0 shareware
  4. macro utility was developed to assist Windows Help developers in producing
  5. effective hypertext documents.   It is not intended to automate the creation
  6. of Windows Help files, but rather facilitates the process while maintaining
  7. a greater flexibility.  This macro also provides additional features not
  8. directly supported by the Windows Help utility, such as Sound WAV and
  9. Video for Windows playback capability.

  11. This shareware copy of Help Assistant is fully functional except for the
  12. "Options" feature that is not enabled.  This is a handy feature which
  13. facilitates certain operations and by which you can also disable the
  14. opening dialog box.  However, it does not limit the capabilities of the
  15. system.

  22. The use of Help Assistant is subject to the following terms and conditions.

  24. You may not make any changes or modifications to Help Assistant. You may 
  25. not descramble, or otherwise reverse-engineer the software in any way.  
  26. You may use Help Assistant on a trial basis provided you do not violate 
  27. the protection afforded the licensed software by the copyright laws, and 
  28. you  agree to the terms of the license agreement. If you continue to use 
  29. Help Assistant past a 15 day evaluation period you are encouraged to 
  30. purchase a license for its use.

  32. A license for the use of Help Assistant can be obtained by sending
  33. a $20.00  registration fee to:

  42. The license fee paid for Help Assistant is a one time fee.  Licensed 
  43. users may obtain and use future maintenance releases of Help Assistant 
  44. by TecKnow Logic without re-registration, at no additional cost except 
  45. for Shipping and Handling.   Title to the licensed software is NOT 
  46. transferred to the end user.  The  end user is granted an exclusive 
  47. license to use the software on one computer or computer work station 
  48. at any given time.

  50. Limited Warranty

  52. TecKnow Logic does not warrant that the licensed software will meet your 
  53. requirements or that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted 
  54. or error free.  The warranty does not cover any media or  documentation 
  55. which has been subjected to damage or abuse by you or others. The software
  56. warranty does not cover any copy of the licensed software which has been 
  57. altered or changed in any way.

  59. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR  
  60. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THE EXPRESS  
  61. WARRANTIES.

  63. The warranties set forth above are in lieu of any and all other express 
  64. or implied warranties, whether oral, written, or implied, and the remedies 
  65. set forth above are the sole and exclusive remedies.  TecKnow Logic is not
  66. responsible for any problems or damage  caused by the licensed software that
  67. may result from using the licensed  software. This includes, but is not 
  68. limited to, computer hardware, computer software, operating systems, and 
  69. any computer or computing  accessories. End user agrees to hold TecKnow Logic  harmless  for any problems arising from the use of the software.
  70. TecKnow Logic  SHALL NOT IN ANY CASE BE LIABLE FOR ANY  SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL,
  71. CONSEQUENTIAL, INDIRECT OR OTHER SIMILAR DAMAGES  ARISING FROM ANY BREACH OF
  72. THESE WARRANTIES EVEN IF TecKnow Logic OR ITS AGENTS OR DISTRIBUTORS HAVE 
  73. BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.  In no case shall TecKnow 
  74. Logic's liability exceed the license fees paid for the right to use the 
  75. licensed software.

  77. Help Assistant Distribution
  78.  
  79. You are granted a limited license to copy Help Assistant only for the 
  80. trial use of others subject to the terms of this software license agreement
  81. described herein, and the conditions described below are met:

  83. Help Assistant MUST be copied in an unmodified form and MUST contain the
  84. following files:

  98. No fee, charge or other compensation may be accepted or requested by  
  99. anyone without the express written permission of TecKnow Logic. Public 
  100. Domain Disk Vendors may not charge a fee for Help Assistant itself.  
  101. However you may include Help Assistant on a diskette for which you charge 
  102. a nominal distribution fee. The purchaser of said diskette must be  
  103. informed in advance that the fee paid to acquire the diskette does NOT  
  104. relieve said purchaser from paying the Registration Fee for Help Assistant 
  105. if said purchaser uses Help Assistant. Operators of electronic bulletin 
  106. board systems (Sysops) may post Help Assistant  for downloading by their 
  107. users without written permission only as long as the above conditions are 
  108. met.  A fee may be charged for access to the BBS as long as no specific 
  109. fee is charged for downloading Help Assistant files without first obtaining
  110. express written permission from TecKnow Logic to charge such a fee.

  112. Distributors of public domain and user supported software, such as disk 
  113. vending services, may not charge a fee for Help Assistant itself. However 
  114. you may include Help Assistant on a diskette for which you charge a nominal  distribution fee. The purchaser of said diskette must be informed in  
  115. advance that the fee paid to acquire the diskette does NOT relieve said  
  116. purchaser from paying the Registration Fee for Help Assistant.

  118. The above constitutes the license agreement for Help Assistant. It 
  119. superceeds any and all previous license agreements.
