  1. FileFinder New Entry Help:

  3.   When you first enter into the "NewFile" 
  4. screen, the next file number will be in
  5. the FileNumber field. This is for reference
  6. only, and cannot be modified. Even if you
  7. do change it, the same number originally 
  8. displayed will be used. Also, this file 
  9. will be displayed. From then on, you are 
  10. on your own....

  12. 1: [SearchName]
  13. The first thing that you should do is enter
  14. in a "SearchName". This name is to enable
  15. the program to find your entry VIA a unique
  16. name. Also note that it is a priority field.
  17. That means that you cannot save your entry 
  18. without filling in this field.

  20. <all other fields can be 
  21. left blank....if you want>

  23. 2: [FileName]
  24. Next is the "FileName". This is your own 
  25. personal name for your file. This is only
  26. required for the printing process. It will
  27. be used as your header name. It also gives
  28. you a rough idea what the heck the file is
  29. for.

  31. 3: [FileNumber]
  32. This field is generated by the program and
  33. cannot be changed at all. You can go into
  34. the field and amend the number, but the 
  35. program will still save the original one
  36. generated

  39. 4: [DateEntered]
  40. This field has been left up to the user 
  41. (you), so you can input the date any way
  42. you wish. Thereby creating a format that 
  43. is pleasing to yourself. Therefore, no
  44. search can be effected VIA the date of 
  45. entry.

  47. 5: [BriefDescription]
  48. Well, this field is not that brief. This 
  49. is a complete "LOG" where you can enter a
  50. description (contents) of the file. This 
  51. can be any length, but is advised that you
  52. do not make it to long.
  53.  
  54. 6: [SAVE BUTTON]
  55. The "save button" is just that. It will 
  56. save your entry to the "Filefinder", file 
  57. & clear all the fields.
  58. The FileNumber field will display the next
  59. number in sequence.

  61. 7: [HELP BUTTON]
  62. The "help button" will display the main 
  63. help file.

  65. 8: [EXIT BUTTON]
  66. The "exit button" will exit you back to the
  67. main menu. If the SearchName field is not 
  68. nil (there is something in the field), then
  69. you will be prompted to save your entry 
  70. (yes/no).

  72. 9: [CLEAR BUTTON]
  73. If you happen to make an eror on input....
  74. you do not have to manually delete each
  75. field. The "clear button" will blank out 
  76. all of the fields except the quick help
  77. and the File Number.
