HEART ATTACK
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Signs to look for:
Severe, crushing, constant central chest pain that lasts for several
minutes
A pain or tightness in the chest that moves either to the arm, neck,
jaw, shoulder, mid-back or stomach
Profuse sweating and extreme weakness
The victim is anxious and afraid
Extreme shortness of breath
Nausea and vomiting
The skin is pale, and lips and fingernails may be blue
Immediate Treatment:
1. Check and maintain an open airway, and if necessary, restore breathing
and circulation.
2. If the victim is conscious, gently place him in a comfortable sitting
position. Lying down flat makes breathing more difficult.
3. Loosen tight clothing, and keep the victim comfortably warm.
4. Calm and reassure the victim.
5. Call Emergency Medical Services.
