Useful IRC Commands
Some IRC commands are
- /join <channel> : Joins a new channel , example
/join #hello
- /whois <nick> : Returns information about the nick
- /mode <channel> <newmode> : Changes a channel
mode ( see Channel Control )
- /kick <channel> <user> [reason] : Removes a
user from a channel ( you must be operator to issue /kick
in that channel
- /part <channel> : Leaves from a channel
- /topic <channel> [newtopic] : Changes a channel
topic .
- /me [message] or /action [message] : Sends an
"action" to a channel
- /quit [reason] : Quits the IRC server
- /msg <target> <message> : Sends a message to
a nick
I won't describe commands designed for IRC operators , since
they already know them :)
