Using a vCalendar Helper in Internet Explorer
The steps below describe how to install a Helper application (for example, Notepad) for Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0. To install a Helper application in Netscape Navigator 3.0, see Using a vCalendar Helper in Navigator. If you're using a different browser, see your browser's documentation for information on how to install a Helper application.
- Choose View - Options from the Internet Explorer menu.
- Click the Programs tab.
- Under Viewers, click File types.
- Click New type.
- For Description of type, type vCalendar.
- For Associated extension, type vcs.
- For Content Type (MIME), type text/x-vCalendar.
- Under Actions, click New.
- For Action, type open.
- For Application used to perform action, enter the path to the Helper application you want to use.
For example, if you're using Notepad, enter the appropriate path.
You can click Browse to select from available files.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
