Before using this Cover Disc

Please read the following Terms of Use. If you agree with the terms, you may continue to use the Disc and this use will constitute your acceptance of the conditions of use stated here. If you do not agree with all of the terms, you may not continue to use the disc and you should return it and the magazine to us for a refund.


Terms of Use

Before installing any software from the Cover Disc

You should virus check the Disc using a virus scanner complete with the latest antivirus data updates. We do virus check the Disc before printing and remove any suspect files, but new viruses are being discovered all the time, and we make no representation that this Disc is virus free.

As with any software available on the Web, you should carefully read the licensing agreements and honour any evaluation or shareware terms specified. You should also read all instructions and README files that come with the software. We provide these instructions and files exactly as they are supplied by the software developer and do not adapt them or make any representation as to their accuracy.

Backup any important system and data files. It is not advisable that the software contained on this CD be installed on production machines or any machines used for business activities.

Conditions of use:

We've provided the software on this disc for the convenience of our readers — to save you the effort of locating and downloading the material on this disc yourself. The software on this Disc is provided as is, in the hope that you will find it useful. We make no express or implied warranties about any part of the software, except where we are required by law to do so.

If you want more information or have any problems with a product or service we review or refer to, you should contact the company that distributes or supports it.

We've taken every care to ensure that the software provided is useful and works, but we cannot and do not accept responsibility or liability for any of the products included, except where we are required by law to do so. For support, you should contact distributors or developers directly. You should be aware that the software may be in trial or beta form and may not work on all system configurations.

PC User does not and will not provide technical support for any of the programs on the Cover Disc. We will only provide support if you do not know how to browse the Disc and view its contents. Check out our Help page first for more guidance on this.

Our responsibilities to you:

1. We have no responsibility or liability (whether in contract, negligence, misrepresentation or otherwise) in relation to the CD or the software or your use of them, and we make no express or implied warranty in relation to the CD or the software, except where liability or any warranties cannot be excluded by law.

2. We do not exclude any warranties implied by law that the Cover Disc and software:

(a) are of merchantable quality;

(b) correspond to any description of them given by us; and

(c) are lawfully supplied to you and may be enjoyed by you subject to the terms applying to any piece of software.

3. However, in relation to any software of a kind not ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use or consumption, our liability for breach of these implied warranties is limited to:

(a) replacing the software;

(b) repairing the software; or

(c) the cost of either of these,

at our option.


Remedies

We do our best to verify all the files on the Cover Disc, but occassionally some archives may be corrupted during transfer, or the Disc itself may be damaged in transit. If your Disc is damaged, we will exchange it. Just send the disc and a note with your name and postal address, to:

Please include full details about your system and any error messages you have encountered while running our disc.

If any of the file archives on the Disc are corrupted, we will include those files on the next possible Cover Disc. We offer this service in addition to any other legal rights you may have.
