Important Note: Almost All Windows 95 games require you install DirectX first. This is a special set of enhanced drivers for things like video, sound and input. If you receive an error message like "Cannot find DSOUND.DLL" then you do not have DirectX installed.

Featuring seamless 3D gameplay and animation, Final Fantasy VII contains hundreds of pre-rendered, computer-generated backgrounds and features real-time battles, vast map screens, and a complex and engrossing storyline. Published on three CDs, Final Fantasy VII will be one of the largest and most richly detailed gaming experiences ever created.

In the vein of Longbow 2, Simis has developed a helicopter simulation it  hopes has enough action to appeal to both sim and action fans. Players  find themselves in the cockpit of attack helicopters, and the game will feature training missions, network games, and real-time campaigns. The physics and flight-modelling generate realistic battle damage effects, shockwaves, and explosions. Included in the demo is a mission in which an LZ Grumpy is under attack from Russian air and ground forces. Players must follow the directions of the way points and engage all enemies encountered.

Team17 has released a demo for Addiction Pinball, which aims to simulate proper shadows and reflections as well as accurate physics and collisions. The results so far appear promising, as the balls move smoothly and realistically. The pinball table provided comes complete with the characters from Worms. The goal in the demo is to beat the clock and play through the Wild West mode.

Novalogic's helicopter sim Comanche 3 returns as Comanche Gold, replete with new missions and campaigns and upgraded graphics and gameplay. Based on America's most technologically advanced helicopter, the RAH-66 Comanche, Comanche Gold will also offer a mission design tool and enhanced multiplayer capability. The Comanche Gold demo includes a Delta Patrol mission in which the enemy's river boat patrols must be destroyed.

For those who missed the madness the first time around or for those who have been clamouring for more since the original Monster Truck Madness, Microsoft and Terminal Reality bring you Monster Truck Madness 2. Watch the mud and water fly off those big studded tires as you soar through the air and return to earth with body-jarring, suspension-testing bounces. Four different trucks await you in this trial version: the Firestone Wilderness Truck, Stinger, Snake Bite, and Executioner. You and up to three opponents can then do battle on the Farm Road 29 circuit track for a total of 20 laps.

Based in part on the universe created for the Descent series, Descent: Freespace takes place in the distant future when the discovery of subspace has made interstellar travel not only possible, but also fairly common. As the Earth government reached out further into space and settled colonies, the need for an all-encompassing league grew greater, and soon the Galactic Terran Alliance was formed. While the GTA was working out supply deals between colonies and enforcing laws, along came the Vasudans, the first intelligent life with which humanity made contact. But instead on entering into a new age of understanding through this contact with new life, the GTA found itself at war with the Vasudans, who proved to be considerable adversaries.

The Descent: Freespace demo includes four missions. The first is a training mission and offers a chance to get used to the controls. The second mission is an escort assignment in which you protect a damaged cruiser. Depending on the degree of success with the second mission, the demo will proceed to one of two additional missions. The difference that a strong performance with the second mission will make is that the use of the Hornet swarm missiles will be granted for the final mission.

X-COM: Interceptor puts you behind the controls of a sleek spacecraft designed with only one function in mind: to destroy aliens. Complete with eerie autopsies, rapid technological advancements, and lots of fighting, X-COM: Interceptor might seem like a departure from the original formula, but it doesn't take long to realise that the X-COM spirit is alive in this latest instalment. Your enemies are better equipped, more numerous, and genetically superior to you, so you must pay attention at all times to their tactics and technology.

EA Sports' World Cup 98 brings to computer gaming one of the world's great sporting events. World Cup 98 strives for a close recreation of the atmosphere and details of the World Cup tournament. This demo offers a sample of the soccer gameplay by providing one two-minute set between England and Brazil played in the St. Denis stadium.

Seven Kingdoms: Ancient Adversaries adds even more depth to the strategy  world of Seven Kingdoms. Three new nationalities make an appearance: Zulu,  Mughul, and Egyptian, as well as new Greater Beings whom they worship and summon. New terrain and scenarios are also included. The demo provides several training demonstrations, covering gameplay aspects such as basic economics, mercenaries, research, and weapons. Two scenarios can then be played, Xianyang Beach and All or Nothing.

The rivers of North America beckon, and the call must be heeded by those who yearn to catch salmon, trout, and steelhead. Learn universal techniques which can be applied to fishing Australian waters. From the makers of Trophy Bass, Trophy Rivers strives for a realistic, visually entertaining fishing simulation in which you set off on trips and tournaments in search of the greatest catch.

Experience the excitement of being a general manager for a professional baseball team in Baseball Mogul 99. Gameplay begins in the spring season of 1998 with 25 main players and 25 more minor league players at your disposal.

Play an exhibition game between the Cleveland Indians and Florida Marlins at Jacob's Field in Cleveland in the demo for Accolade's 3D action baseball game.

All of these patches can be found on the \games\3dpatch folder on the CD in their original compressed form to save space. The name for each patch is in brackets <in blue> next to the name of the 3D card it supports.

To install, copy the file you want to a temp folder on your hard drive then unzip or execute it. (You will find Winzip in our Utilities section)

You should read any instructions provided with the patch for installation. Some may need to be copied into your game folder first before running.
