Taskey Personal

URL: http://www.taskey.com
Registered price: $140
Rating: 8/10

Taskey Personal is a brilliant combination of a goals manager, a PIM, a contacts manager, and project manager. It lets you keep all your information in one place. You can track your overall visions, your projects, tasks related and unrelated to projects, time-based information, expense information of all kinds, and all activities.

The program's clever design means that it does the work. You simply type in your tasks (and you only need to type them in once, then Taskey provides matches for you), fill in the information such as the project etc, and Taskey develops a complete plan for you. As you complete tasks, you can look at a timeline to see how much of the project you've completed, and how much remains to be done. The program also features great reports, which include graphs.

Major Business

URL: http://www.windows95.com
Registered price: $50
Rating: 8/10

This is a business-like contacts manager which combines contacts management with document management, so that all your letters, reports, spreadsheets, sound files etc are attached to the relevant contact, and you don't have to go searching all over your disk for them. It comes with various letter layouts set up for single use or multiple mailings, so that you can use it right away. It also stores all your e-mail with each contact. Ideal for the busy office, where you want a program which is fast and easy to learn.

Voice Note It 95

URL: http://www.shareware.com
Registered price: $15
Rating: 8/10

This is a cute program which lets you store digital notes on your PC. You'll need a soundcard and microphone, but otherwise the program is a snap to use. Basically, it works just like a hand-held audio tape recorder. You can start a new note for each recording, or you can record from where you left off in a note; but just as in other recorders, when you record over something, you erase it.

WinFlash 32

URL: http://www.shareware.com
Registered price: $35
Rating: 8/10

Most flash card programs restrict you to text information. WinFlash, however, lets you include graphics and audio material, making it suitable for corporate as well as educational use. It's great at creating employee training materials, and you can use it at home to create Trivia-style games. The fourth version of this program, features include a full WYSIWYG forms-based editor, double-sided printing, multiple choice questions and fill-in-the-blank questions (both types auto-checked by your computer), hints can be provided, graphics are auto-sized, but will zoom to full-screen at a click, up to 5000 entries per card deck, and much more.

Speedy Notes

URL: http://users.aol.com/letardg
Registered price: $16
Rating: 8/10

Look on Speedy Notes as a whiteboard for your computer. Your information is displayed continuously, however you must leave the program open, even when you exit Windows, otherwise your data is history. If you don't want the information to appear until a certain date, you can create a 'stealth' note, which will appear on that date. Stealth notes can also appear on a selected range of dates.

Windows 3.1

Book-It

URL: http://www.shareware.com
Registered price: $200
Rating: 8/10

Book-It manages the activities of any business or social group. It's ideal for clubs, schools, and community or church organisations. It gives you complete control of your membership list and manages events for you. You can track new member inquiries, as well as record member terms, dues and renewals, credit notes, activity schedules, bookings, and payments. You can run searches on your data, apply filters, generate reports and labels, and complete mail merges. If you've been struggling with a mix of utilities or your own home-made database, this program will save you a lot of time.

TimeTracker

URL: http://www.shareware.com
Registered price: $25
Rating: 8/10

TimeTracker simplifies your billing. You can keep accurate records of how much time you spend on each document (project), with the amount due calculated automatically. You can have any number of documents and separate billing rates for each. When you start work on a document, just hit the timer. If you need to stop work for a while, hit the coffee pot icon. You can print a report at any time; you can even include the report on the invoice you send to clients.
