Jim and Scout Interview

JH: I was going to ask you about attitude on the runway. How much does that play in the final selection here?

Jessica: I think that it's pretty important. You see there are some girls who weren't quite, you know, the perfect beauty, but something came out on the runway that made people want to work with them, or want to see more of them, and think that they have more potential, so definitely attitude is a very big part of the business. I think it's bigger than. . . more than some other factors.

JH: What would you recommend to somebody who wants to get into modeling? Where should they start?

Jessica: Well, if they live near New York, they can just come to an agency open call or send some regular, plain old snapshots is the best way to do it.

If they don't live in New York, they can either send pictures or, you know, there are usually local agancies they can sign up with in their home towns that we work with. But, the best thing is to come to an open call like this, or come to Elite New York and visit us.

JH: What's the easiest way for them to find out about an open call?

Jessica: They can call the agency and find out what time, you know, most agencies offer open calls. Otherwise, just calling up Elite, we're pretty accessible.
