Warp_Loop

Reference
Index

Generates a looping animated texture by warping texture space.

How Does It Work?

This component bends and twists a texture to make it loop.

The Time parameter should be connected to a Time component.  As this parameter changes from 0% to 100%, the texture animates.

The X, Y, and Z Amount parameters control how much the texture will move along each axis as it animates.

The Distortion parameter gives a shape to the movement of the texture. In most cases you don't want anything too detailed. Even a simple gradient will work well here.

Hints!

Make sure to connect some kind of smooth gradient to the Distortion parameter or you will get an obvous pattern to the resulting animation. If you are using large Amound values, you might have to reduce the Distortion amound to avoid excessive distortions of the texture.

For 3D textures, using only the Z-axis for movement works best.  For 2D textures, a mix of X and Y axis values work best.

Try different combinations of gradients and X, Y, Z Amounts to generate different motions. For example, a Linear Gradient with small X and Y values makes a wavy motion.

Use this with any of the tiling components to create a looping tiling texture.
