WAVER distorts in three dimensions.WARP stretches and pinches a linked texture within randomly placed "warping regions". You can control the size and density of the regions, which can overlap and interfere with one another.  WARP deforms in three dimensions.

How Does It Work?

The Density parameter sets the number of warping regions within a given area. The warping regions are organized into sets. If Density is set to 0.0 there won't be any warping regions, but as the density increases, a set of warping regions will appear and begin to expand. Once a set of warping regions reaches maximum size, they'll cease to grow and a new set of regions will appear. The regions reach maximum size at specific densities (0.0, 10.0, 20.0, etc.).

The Distortion parameter sets the amount of distortion (stretch and pinch, in this case) as a percent of the maximum (which is controlled by Scale Factor). You can link Distortion to a Generator to define a distortion profile, otherwisethe profile will be linear. The generator defines the amount of distortion from the outside edge of the warping region to the center. Whichever generator Distortion is linked to will combine with the internal linear profile. This ensures that the distortion at the outermost edge of the region will be 0 and won't cause any discontinuities.

Hints!

WARP, along with Turbulence, is excellent for breaking up patterns and making textures more organic- looking.

The warping regions of WARP will line up with the warping regions of the Turbulence component, as long as both have the same densities.

Note: Higher Turbulence and Density values significantly decrease texture speed.
