You will find the parameter Input Seed in nearly half of the DarkTree components. Many of the texture patterns in DarkTree are set up using a random number generator. For example, the lump locations in the Lumps component are randomly placed. Changing the Input Seed changes the numbers that the random number generator creates and so changes the texture pattern. By changing your Input Seed, you can keep the look of your texture while changing the arrangement of the pattern. Figure1 shows several different Holstein cow patterns with only the Input Seed changed. Using Input Seed, you could easily give each cow in a heard a different pattern but still use only one darktree shader. |
