TECH is a structured noise pattern that looks like a printed circuit or road map.

How Does It Work?

This is a fractal algorithm and so it has many of the standard fractal parameters (Roughness, Lacunarity, Lacunarity Lock).

The Trace Size parameter sets the width of the traces. A Trace Size of 0% means there will be no traces.  A Trace Size of 100% means there will be no background.

Hints!

Link a Sine Generator with a Frequency if 4.5 and a Phase Amount of 25% to the Strata Function to create a more printed circuit look.

Link a Round Generator with a Frequency of 0.5 to the Strata Function of a Bump version of this component to make the traces look like pipes.

Common Parameters

Input Seed

The seed for the random number generator that is used to create the texture.

Roughness

The roughness or detail level of the pattern.

Lacunarity

The relative scale of the fractal layers of traces.

Lacunarity Lock

When enabled, locks the size of the top fractal layer while adjusting Lacunarity.

Density

The number of traces in a given area.

Trace Size

The size of the blocks.

Brightness

The brightness level of the pattern. Higher values move the color toward Trace.

Contrast

The contrast or sharpness between the Trace and Background.

Strata Function

Blending control applied the the fractal layers of the pattern.

Blend Function

Blending control between Trace and Background.

Color Component Parameters

Background

The background color value.

Trace

The trace color value.

Percent Component Parameters

Background

The background percent value.

Trace

The trace percent value.

Bump Component Parameters

Background

The background bump elevation.

Trace

The trace bump elevation.

Bump Scale

A scaling factor for the bump values.
