SECTIONS radially repeats a V-shaped slice taken from a texture linked through the
Background parameter. It's similar to a Mirrored Sections except none of the sections are
mirrored. SECTIONS deforms in two dimensions.
How Does It Work?
Just one parameter, Number Of Sections, controls the deformation. This parameter tells SECTIONS how
many sections to generate. A pie- or V-shaped section sliced from the top center of the linked texture provides the repeat sections. The size of the slice is determined by the number of sections required. That
is, the more sections called for, the narrower the slice.
Hints!
Unless the component (or component subtree) is very symmetrical or lines up just so, discontinuities (sharp edges) will result. That's because SECTIONS doesn't mirror the section repeats. The
discontinuities may look okay for the color and percent channels, but the bump channel will show obvious lines.
