Pestilence

Reference
Index

PESTILENCE is a natural pattern that looks, well...gross.  It is made up of twisting, intertwined blobs.

How Does It Work?

Use the Turbulence parameter to control what the blobs look like.  Low Turbulence values will make the blobs thick and rounded. High Turbulence values will make the blobs thin and twisting.

Hints!

Translating in the Z direction makes a gross animation.  If you don't like gross, invert the bump version to make a pitted surface.

Common Parameters

Input Seed

The seed for the random number generator that is used to create the texture.

Roughness

The roughness or detail level of the pattern.

Lacunarity

The relative scale of the fractal layers of blobs.

Lacunarity Lock

When enabled, locks the size of the top fractal layer while adjusting Lacunarity.

Turbulence

The shape of the blobs.  Higher values result in thinner more twisted blobs.

Brightness

The brightness level of the pattern. Higher values move the color toward High.

Contrast

The contrast or sharpness between Low and High.

Strata Function

Blending control applied the the fractal layers of the pattern.

Blend Function

Blending control between Low and High.

Color Component Parameters

Low

The background color value.

High

The blob color value.

Percent Component Parameters

Low

The background percent value.

High

The blob percent value.

Bump Component Parameters

Low

The background bump elevation.

High

The blob bump elevation.

Bump Scale

A scaling factor for the bump values.
