Fractal

FRACTAL is a basic noise pattern that is based on a fractal algorithm.

How Does It Work?

This is a great general purpose noise. The bump version makes a good rocky surface.

Hints!

Controlling the Roughness makes good melted areas, especially if the Lacunarity is also changed at the same time to show stress marks.

Common Parameters

Input Seed

The seed for the random number generator that is used to create the texture.

Roughness

The roughness or detail level of the pattern.

Lacunarity

The relative scale of the fractal layers of noise.

Lacunarity Lock

When enabled, locks the size of the top fractal layer while adjusting Lacunarity.

Brightness

The brightness level of the pattern. Higher values move the color toward High.

Contrast

The contrast or sharpness between the High and Low.

Strata Function

Blending control applied the the fractal layers of the pattern.

Blend Function

Blending control between High and Low.

Color Component Parameters

Low

The background color value.

High

The fractal color value.

Percent Component Parameters

Low

The background percent value.

High

The fractal percent value.

Bump Component Parameters

Low

The background bump elevation.

High

The fractal bump elevation.

Bump Scale

A scaling factor for the bump values.
