Ether

Reference
Index

ETHER is a noise pattern that looks like a gaseous substance.  It is a 3D component (it can be translated through).

How Does It Work?

This texture resembles a gas that is in motion.  Use the Turbulence to set how quickly it is flowing.  High Turbulence values will create well defined regions or bands.

Hints!

Translating through this in the Z direction makes a good swirling fog or mist.

Use the Strata_Function on the bump version for a nice eroded rock look.

Common Parameters

Input Seed

The seed for the random number generator that is used to create the texture.

Roughness

The roughness or detail level of the pattern.

Lacunarity

The relative scale of the fractal layers of ether.

Lacunarity Lock

When enabled, locks the size of the top fractal layer while adjusting Lacunarity.

Turbulence

The turbulent twisting of the ether.

Brightness

The brightness level of the pattern. Higher values move the color toward High.

Contrast

The contrast or sharpness between the High and Low.

Strata Function

Blending control applied the the fractal layers of the pattern.

Blend Function

Blending control between High and Low.

Color Component Parameters

Low

The background color value.

High

The ether color value.

Percent Component Parameters

Low

The background percent value.

High

The ether percent value.

Bump Component Parameters

Low

The background bump elevation.

High

The ether bump elevation.

Bump Scale

A scaling factor for the bump values.
