In an effort to get more information out sooner, we're putting up preliminary
versions of some of the BeDC session transcripts. Note that they're extremely
raw; we're doing this as an experiment to guage the reaction to putting
up early information. The session source code isn't available yet and the
images are inefficient, but we thought we'd put this info out there for
use.
The sessions available are:
The Bug Report Form now accepts
Advanced Access Bugs; the floodgates are officially open. Check the Bug

It's days like this when it would just be easier to have a "What
Isn't New on the Be Web Site" page....
New press releases:
The Products section has completely
new information about the Preview Release, including:
- The Media OS
A white paper on why the BeOS is ideally suited to digital content
creators
- Preview Release Datasheet
Highlighting some of the new features in the Preview Release
- Preview Release Specifications
Point-by-point info on the new Preview Release features
- A Tour of the Preview Release
A guided tour of some of the new Preview Release features. This will
be expanded considerably in the coming weeks to try to satisfy the always-high
BeOS screenshot demand we constantly see. More will be added in the next
week alone.
- What's New in the Preview
Release
Settle in and get comfortable with the current list of new features
in the Preview Release.
A new area called Approaching the
Market was added to the Developer section.
Just Add Customer is for developers, and is meant to help out with the
post-coding part of software development. This area will definitely evolve
over time.
A What's Be? document was added
to help out the user who is new to Be and the BeOS.
BeOS Now! was added to try
to stem the tide of "How can I get the BeOS" questions we receive.
Especially now that the developer-only Advanced Access release is
being sent out to developers.
Finally, the dock has disappeared from the site. It's gone in the Preview
Release, so it had to leave the web site, too....
