We will not process a credit card payment if the payment information includes a hotmail email address. The payment information will be processed if the hotmail account is removed. If your only email address is a hotmail account, you will need to either have your payment information sent from a friend's account (not on hotmail) or pay with cash or check and provide a postal mailing address.

Hotmail is a free email service that anyone can use. It provides a very useful service for people who can get access to the internet but who do not have some organization that can provide an email account. For example, public access computers in libraries in the USA or "cyber-cafes". The disadvantage for Kagi is that because the email account is free, it is too easy for someone with a stolen credit card number, to open a hotmail account and purchase goods on the internet. By the time the stolen card is discovered, the hotmail account is closed and there is no way to trace the person who was using it.

Anonymous email accounts such as hotmail.com tend to attract people committing credit card fraud. For that reason, we no longer process a credit card payment when it includes a hotmail email address. We prefer that you use an email address where the postmaster can physically find you if needed.
