Description

This demo is an example of using Internet Explorer 5 Beta to browse XML. The XML file has an XSL stylesheet associated with it ("portfolio.xsl"). This stylesheet in turn uses another XSL stylesheet ("sort-stocks.xsl") to further process the data. You can browse more XML files in the Direct Browsing tutorial

Browser/Platform Compatibility

You must be running Internet Explorer 5 Beta or greater to view this demo.

Usage

Internet Explorer 5 Beta can be used to view XML documents. These documents are displayed using one of three methods.

• The first method is by using the default stylesheet. This default stylesheet is an XSL stylesheet that allows the user to browse the XML file by expanding and collapsing the tree.
• The second method is by assigning the XML file an XSL stylesheet as in the above demo. This assigned stylesheet
• overrides the default XSL stylesheet and displays the XML document as prescribed.
• The third method is by applying CSS formatting to the XML document.
