In this area a lot depends on what you feel comfortable doing. I will explain how to do the ultimate grooming of your brow and you can tailor it to your own personal needs.
It's really quite simple... the eyebrow can make or break a face. The eyebrow is a frame for the eye. It should enhance the eye, not overwhelm it
If your eyebrows are thick and unruly you must groom them. Much better to have two nicely shaped eyebrows than one big one. You should pluck extraneous hairs in order to form a well shaped eyebrow line. The easiest line to follow is the shape of your lid, right along the line where your lashes grow. Each eyebrow should begin directly above the inside corner of the eye and should end at the outside corner. A slight arch in the middle is always lovely.
Before plucking, I'd suggest that you always soften the area with oil and water (applied with cotton). Then, gently pull outward with a slanted tweezer in the direction that the hair is growing. Always follow up with an astringent (applied with cotton) on the entire eyebrow area. Wait at least one hour before applying any make-up.
Everyone I know seems to want large, beautiful, alluring eyes. For those of us who possess them, lucky, lucky lucky. For the others, we can make them more beautiful(but always remember, the real beauty comes from inside).
As I mentioned in the colour column, neutral shades enhance the eyes by exaggerating and defining the shape and size. They also bring out the natural colours in your eyes. Trust me,stick with these neutrals (beige, brown~taupe, charcoal,) and your eyes will really come alive, sparkle.
Do not be concerned about deepset, protruding or any other type of eyes. These techniques will frame your eyes and help give the illusion of enlarging and defining the shape and beauty of the eyes.
1-Cover the entire eyelid from lashes to eyebrows with a light beigey, creamy coloured shadow
2-Cover the eyelid up to the crease and just slightly up onto the edge of the brow bone with a darker shadow (taupe ,prune, brown, charcoal , tabac) . apply this right over the first shadow. This dark shadow should conform in shape to the curve of the opened top eyelid line. (Similiar to the eyebrow line)
Be sure to blend very well. These shadows should begin not quite at the inside corner of the eye but slightly away from the very inside. They should end at the end of your lid,not a hair past that.
3- Apply a light shadow with perhaps a bit of shine to it, to the brow bone and directly under the eyebrow. You can go to the inside corner of the eye with this application. Make sure once again to blend very well.
4-If desired to define the eye even more, you can use a dark eyeliner(charcoal, brown, black, navy) on the top eye lid. Start a little bit away from the inner corner and apply as close as you can to the eyelashes. In fact, draw the line in the eyelashes. This line should be very, very thin.Take a cotton swab and blend when finished applying.
To finish the eye you should apply three (yes, three)coats of mascara. It makes a really big difference if you use an eyelash curler.First curl your lashes, then apply one coat(always black),wait till it dry~by working on the other eye,and then go back and repeat until each eye has three coats each(without clumps).
Another littl trick I use is to powder your entire eyelid with translucent powder before applying the mascara. The powder gets on the lashes and makes them look a little thicker
Once again, I will leave you with the same thoughts. . practice makes perfect. Don't despair, if you follow the above directions and keep practicing you will get it right!
