The infrared device driver for OS/2
is included in the application TranXit for OS/2.
There are two types of infrared device drivers for OS/2:
- Infrared device driver to support simple file transfer
with the application TranXit for OS/2.
- Infrared device driver to support networking over an infrared
link with the IBM Multi-Protocol Transport Service (MPTS)
software.
The two drivers cannot work together, so you must install
only the one you use.
The former is included in TranXit for OS/2,
and is installed when you install the application.
You need not install it separately. The latter is included in the
Infrared Features Diskette II, and is installed as a Network Device
Interface Specification Version 2 (NDIS2) compliant network
adapter driver, when you install and configure the MPTS networking
software that comes with OS/2 Warp Connect, OS/2 Warp Server, or
TCP/IP for OS/2. Refer to the respective networking software
publication for installation procedures.
The README file on the Infrared Features Diskette II also contains
additional information.
(Ref #95.)
Note:
