30 May 2004: 14 mirrors..

Matthias and Christopher inform me via email that CarBall Version 1.4 is now mirrored on daddeln.de and BulletFiles. Cheers guys.

30 May 2004: Roll on Version 1.4..

I know it's been less than a day since CarBall Version 1.3 rolled out of the factory but I have found an answer to the infuriating "cannot connect to other games after playing CarBall" problem.

The problem lies in Epic's code so it's good that it wasn't my code causing the bug. Thanks to a page on the wiki (an invaluable UScript resource) by Mychaeel the problem is fixed.

The other major change for Version 1.4 is that CarBall now has it's own folder tree. This will help to stop your UT2004 foldertree getting filled with too much stuff.

Head on over to the download page for a download link and the lowdown on the other changes for CarBall Version 1.4.

29 May 2004: Version 1.3 mirrors..

29 May 2004: Version 1.3 is here..

Firstly I must apologize for my not being around for the last few days to answer your feedback (and update the news page). My ISP has been having problems but hopefully that's all done with now. During my time away from the internet (oh withdrawl symptoms) I've managed to get CarBall Version 1.3 ready for you all to tryout.

Head on over to the downloads page for download links, and a list of changes for CarBall Version 1.3.

CarBall continues to get better and better thanks mostly to the great feedback and ideas I have received from the people who play CarBall. Drop by the forums and let me know what you thought of CarBall. I'm always keen to get feedback and ideas to keep improving CarBall.

27 May 2004: More Mirrors and a Review..

Rookie just informed me via EMail that Mod'n'Mod has posted a CarBall review. Why not take a few minutes and head on over and see what the Mod'n'Mod guys thought of CarBall.

James from OzForces Gaming Network dropped me a line via EMail to let me know that OzForces are now mirroring CarBall Version 1.2 (Full Install) OzForces is now CarBall's official Australian mirror (Go the ANZAC spirit!).

27 May 2004: Version 1.2 mirror..

I just got an EMail from Greg, at Gamespot DLX. They have kindly mirrored CarBall Version 1.2. Thanks Greg, and thanks Gamespot DLX.

On the subject of EMail. I will no longer be accepting EMail from hotmail.com, yahoo.com, and a number of other web based EMail services. Since CarBall was released I have been receiving so many virus infected EMail's from those domains that I have now totally blocked them. I apologize to the legitimate people who use these services (all 2 of you).

If you are affected by this issue, you are always more than welcome to drop by the CarBall Forums and leave some feedback.

26 May 2004: Version 1.2 is here..

CarBall Version 1.2 is now ready for download. Version 1.2 features a few extra little touches and tweaks. You can checkout the full list of changes from the Downloads page.

Lots of the new features in Version 1.2 come from the people who play CarBall. If you play CarBall and like it, do drop by the forums and post your comments and ideas. I'm will always give careful consideration to all ideas and suggestions. So drop by and help me make CarBall the best Car + Ball gametype available for UT2004.

Webmasters.. Please do not link directly to the CarBall files. Please link to the CarBall downloads page. This will help stop errors that people may get if I move files about or rename them. Thanks.

25 May 2004: New features..

Today I've been working on..

- Added ability for custom events to be triggered when goals scored.
- CarBall now has the functionality of Stunt Mutator builtin.
- The Ball can now glow or not glow. It can also glow different colors.
- Removed semi annoying vehiclename being drawn when spawning.

25 May 2004: Version1.1 mirror..

Matthias informs me via EMail that daddeln.de is mirroring CarBall V1.1. Great stuff Matthias, thanks.

Small update on CarBall development:

- Stopped "Fender Bender" sound's ability to play due the the enormous amount of fender bender spam during matches.
- Fixed up the Flip code. The Buggy is flipping back onto it's wheels so much better now.

23 May 2004: CarBall Version1.1 Available..

CarBall 1.1 is available for download in both UMod and zip formats. Version 1.1 comes in a full install or as an update for version 1.0. Here's a list of changes..

Fixed issue with HUD not drawing inventory correctly.
- Lowered the volume of the sound played when going invisible/visible.
- Fixed CB-Stadium bug where goals could be scored from behind and atop the goal areas.

I've also updated the downloads page. I had an old version of the page there which wasn't showing the correct files (zip distribution was missing) and was reporting the wrong filesize. Sorry for any inconvenience that might have caused :)

23 May 2004: CarBall Version1 Slight problems..

It seems there are a few little things that need ironing out in CarBall. Currently discovered issues..
- Flip key sometimes not working all the time.
- Hud graphic bug. Inventory is not being drawn correctly.
- Some sounds playing way too loud.

I'm working on addressing those issues.
