Q. What is the purpose of the calendar system?
A. The WorldClient calendar system can be used to organize your activities using your WorldClient account, schedule events and meetings with other WorldClient users, and see what other WorldClient users have scheduled at various times.
Q. What can I do with the calendar system?
A. You can add personal and global memos, private and public appointments, and schedule meetings with the calendar system.
Q. How does the permissions system work within the calendar?
A. Your calendar belongs to you û you can always read and write without restriction to your own calendar. When you are working with another personÆs calendar, what you can do depends on what permission setting the owner of that calendar has granted you. Similarly, what others can do with your calendar depends on what permissions you grant them. At the global level you can set the permissions for your calendar through the Options->Calendar selection within WorldClient. Here you can grant default read and write-access for all users and specify individual email addresses that you want exempted from the global defaults. For example, if you want to grant everyone read-access to your calendar (this is the default setting) just set that option on the Options->Calendar page. If you want to grant everyone except frank@example.com read-access to your calendar then set the default to allow everyone to have read-access but specify frank@example.com as an exception. If you wish to grant read-access to no one, or to no one except frank@example.com, you can also do that from the Options->Calendar page. The same options on the Calendar->Options page used for setting read permissions can be used for setting write permissions as well.
Q. If I grant someone read-access to my calendar what does that allow them to do?
A. Users with read-access to your calendar can see all events that are public. They cannot see events that are private û a private event is always private. Only you and those individuals to whom you grant access when you create the event can see it.
Q. If I grant someone write-access to my calendar what does that allow them to do?
A. Someone with write-access will be able to schedule appointments for you and add memos to your calendar.
Q. How do I grant someone permission to create global memos?
A. From MDaemonÆs main window click Setup -> Groupware. Next, from the drop-down list box at the top of the dialog, select the domain for which this permission will apply. In the text box labeled, ôThese users always have permission to add global memosö add the personÆs email address. Click OK.
Q. Must a person who creates an appointment always have read/write access to it?
A. No. This behavior is set using a switch in the Setup -> Groupware dialog.
