This really isn't a 'request' but more a bit of information that some of you may find useful in filling out the more obscure sections of the Rockford pages. My name is Stephen BROCKELMAN and I worked for Technicolor's Gold\ Key Entertainment Division when Stephen Cannell was pitching this idea of a spin-off. Stephen and I met with Cannell several times when he was talking about casting ideas for the new Lead [spin] character. Some 15+ years later when I met with Cannell at a casting call, I asked where he came up with the idea of using an obscure name like 'BROCKELMAN' for a new lead. His response was, "The writers found it was the smallest in the phone book." Suffice to say, I have worked on my family name for 20+ years and there are very, very few BROCKELMAN's in the US. If anyone has direct information on how Richie Brockelman's name was actually arrived at, I'd love to hear about it. I have some production stills (not rare) and some casting stills (still not rare) that I'd be pleased to share. Good luck on your quest...keep me posted, please.
