Cheap bank drafts for foreign currency

Information from leaflets monitored for the Institute by Roger Knights.

In cases where payment by credit card is not possible, sending cheques to pay for goods or services in a foreign country can be very expensive, with banks charging up to £15 for bank drafts. Ruesch International, which has offices in the States, in London and in Zurich, charges a mere US$2 for a bank draft and its exchange rates are said to be not unreasonable. The customer calls their office, says how much foreign currency is needed, sends a company cheque to Ruesch, who in return send a bank draft.

Ruesch International, 18 Saville Row, London W1X 2AD (tel 0171 734 1311; or in the States tel 800 424 2923; or Zurich, Switzerland, tel 01 212 53 00).
