In cases where payment by credit card is not possible, sending cheques to pay for goods or services in a foreign country can be very expensive, with banks charging up to £15 for bank drafts. Ruesch International, which has offices in the States, in London and in Zurich, charges a mere US$2 for a bank draft and its exchange rates are said to be not unreasonable. The customer calls their office, says how much foreign currency is needed, sends a company cheque to Ruesch, who in return send a bank draft.
