Students using creativity to improve university

How do I teach Creativity? Creativity: Pure and Applied is just that, a third year course in the psychology department at York University in Toronto. It covers theories, people and processes of creativity (that's the pure part) as well as creative problem solving methods such as de Bono, Parnes and synectics.

There is a required applied project, where the students are asked to 'Improve York University' in any manner they see fit using some of the recently acquired tools. That's it.

The students love the course. Many say it is the only useful or interesting course they have ever had, 'You changed my life' and so on. I think the reason it is so popular is because it is mostly experiential and I give them many demonstrations and problems to solve. I only lecture formally for 20 minutes in a three-hour class and the mini-lecture is always animated and full of energy and excitement.
