How to configure the e-mail server If you want ORS to send reports automatically, you must configure ORS so that it knows where the e-mail server is and, if necessary, any login rights. 1. Choose Options > Program Settings. The Observer Reporting Server Settings window appears. 2. Click the E-mail Notification Settings button. The E-mail Settings window appears. 3. In the Server area, type the host name or IP address of your SMTP server. 4. Specify the SMTP port and security option by using the provided list. The list also allows you to specify a custom port and encryption if the presets are not applicable. 5. In the Sender area, define how you want ORS to send its reports through your e-mail server. You may need to consult with your e-mail server administrator if a specific user name and password is required. 6. Click the E-mail Test button to confirm the settings are valid. This sends an e-mail to the sender, not the recipient.
