Office 2000 Professional - 32-Bit Windows
Recommendation: No action necessary.
Date handling: Dates are displayed with two- or four-digit years according to the date format selected by the user.
If the last two digits of the year are pasted from one vintage of an Office program into another, the date might be interpreted differently than the originating program interpreted it.
On Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 operating systems, Outlook interprets two-digit shortcuts 00 - 29 to be between 2000 and 2029; two-digit shortcuts 30 - 99 are interpreted to be between 1930 and 1999.
On the Windows 98 operating system, Outlook interprets two-digit shortcuts to be years in the range specified on the Date tab in Regional Settings.
The Birthday and Anniversary fields in Outlook 2000 accept dates 95 years back and 5 years forward from the current date. The Inbox Assistant and Out of Office Assistant's Advanced rule settings use the range of 1980 - 2079; and the Import/Export Wizard operates through the year 2035.
By default, other Office 2000 programs interpret two-digit shortcuts 00 - 29 to be between 2000 and 2029 and shortcuts 30 - 99 are interpreted to be between 1930 and 1999.
