Ensure that the short date format in Windows Control Panel Regional Settings is set to display four digits for years.

Excel 2000 - 32-Bit Windows

Recommendation: Set the short date format in Windows Control Panel to display four-digit years.

Date handling: Excel 2000 by default displays two digits (yy) for the year and interprets two-digit shortcuts for years 00 - 29 to be 2000 - 2029 and 30 - 99 to be 1930 - 1999. However, the time period can be changed in Windows 98, and in the current plans for Windows 2000, by changing the setting on the Date tab in Regional Settings in Control Panel.

Excel (Macintosh) 98

Recommendation: Install Office 97 Service Release 2. To request the update on CD-ROM call 888-673-8925 toll free.
