Netscape* Configuration
Follow each step below to fully configure the Netscape WWW browser.
- If you have an NNTP server, enter the name of your NNTP server in OPTIONS | PREFERENCES | Directories, Applications, and News section. Replace the default value (news) with your NNTP server hostname.
- If you have an SMTP server, enter the name of your SMTP server in OPTIONS | PREFERENCES | Mail and Proxies section. Replace the default value (mail) with your SMTP server hostname. Next enter your full name and Internet email address.
- Contact your LAN or WAN administrator if your site uses firewalls.
Using Your WWW Browser
Use these directions to confirm that your WWW browser is fully configured.
- To read news, use the URL: news:newsgroup. The newsgroup comp.sys.novell is where many internet users talk about Novell products.
NOTE: using a newsgroup wildcard (e.g. comp.sys.*) will download all newsgroups with their one line description and display only those newsgroups that match the wildcard. This may be as more than 250K if your news server provides a full news feed.
- To send mail, use the URL: mailto:user@domain.
