New Email Form (cont'd)

Menus

The New Email form has three menus which can be access by pressing the menu button Menu Button. On some older Palm Pilots and Handspring models, the menu button may look different. Please consult your manual in these cases.

Edit Menu

The Edit menu contains commands for editing text fields. These are the standard editing functions.

The middle section of the edit menu contains several commands for quickly navigating through the fields.

The Scroll To Top/ Scroll To Bottom commands will scroll the current field to the top or the bottom respectively. This is especially useful for a long email, and for the Subject and To fields that do not have scrollbars.

At the bottom of the menu are the "Keyboard" and "Graffiti Help" commands. The Keyboard command will bring up the keyboard, and the Graffiti Help command will bring up the Graffiti "Cheat sheet" with all of the strokes and their corresponding characters.

Message Menu

The message menu contains commands pertaining to the current message.

"Send" will send the message.

"Save in Drafts" will move the email to the drafts folder to be edited or sent later.

Lookup Email Address will open up the address book (just like in the To dialog, see fig 4). Select the contact you would like to email, and then press the "Select button" (see fig 4). Mail+ will then paste the email address where the cursor is located in the New Email. You can use the "Undo" command from the Edit menu to undo this paste.

"Properties" will bring up the "Message Properties" dialog.

Options Menu

"Insert Contact" is very similar to Lookup Email Address, however, it will insert more information that just the contact's email address. It will print the following information in the following format:

Firstname Lastname
Company
Street Address
City, State Zipcode
Work: work number
Home: home number
Email: email address
Other: other info

It will paste that information where the cursor is. You may then use the "Undo" command to undo the insert. Note that there is a bug in the address book application with some version of the Palm Pilot that cause some fields of this to be incorrect. We are working hard to solve this problem, and expect a solution in version 1.5.

"Edit Display Options..." will bring up the edit display options dialog. This will allow you to change the look and feel of the new email form.
