Get the SDK
(Answer) (Category) Amiga Inc. Faq-O-Matic : (Category) Amiga SDK FAQ :
More info on Amiga SDK
Can someone give me more info? What do you get in the SDK? there is very little info on the web site. Is the new Amiga OS just a window manager for LINUX? How much of LINUX does it use, does it have it's own memory manager? Are there any screen shot.
Is it just another set of API's like QT or GTK?
If it run ontop of LINUX how can it preform any faster than LINUX? Does it use the Xfree windows system ? is than preformance is limitted to what you get from Xfree server, (RedHAT 6.1 uses Xfree 3.x which has very little 3D support, will it work with Xfree 4.0)or does it proived it own windows server?

Currently, the SDK is a shell that runs the Elate kernel on top of Linux, which then allows you to use the SDK tools to create new applications, tools, libraries and utilities
There are also AVE (very slick) graphics demos included with the SDK.
The SDK also includes developer tools and headers for C, C++, JAVA and VP (Taos's Virtual Processor) and a fairly comprehensive help system.
