There is a $40 Airport tax on exiting the the country payable either in US currency or by credit card not in Seychelles Rupee.

Changing money: note that when leaving, the banks at the airport will only change your Seychelles rupees back if you have a foreign exchange receipt issued by them. This applies even to small amounts. We found the independent money-changers much more helpful than the main banks.

The diving is interesting here, but do not go to the Seychelles for shallow water reef diving; all the shallow water coral seems to have died due to an increase in water temperature.

The staff at one hotel told me that you get better prices if you contact the hotels directly and ask for a discount.

An interesting house in the centre of Desroches island is owned by a buddhist artist. The driftwood statues in his garden are really impressive, and buddhist symbols decorate the house.
