NIGERIA

Visas, Embassies and Borders

In Lome the Nigerian Embassy does not issue any visas to non-residents at all. Plenty of travellers are forced either to ship their cars to I.E. South Africa (about $1000 US) and catch a flight or take the risky route via Niger and Chad.

The Australian Embassy in Lagos is at No 2 Ozumba Mbabine Ave, near Bonny Camp (UK Embassy end) roundabout.

Some hassles getting visas, but visa for Nigeria was available same day (US$34 for Australians, US$20 for South Africans). Chad visa, same day, two photos and US$10. In Chad, a transit visa for Nigeria can be obtained - five days US$15, 30 days US$30.
