New and Secondhand RISC OS computer systems

APDL can supply any new models offered by MicroDigital, RiscStation or Castle Technology. In addition we have our own Special Edition MicroDigital Mico which, at less than £340 plus VAT is the cheapest new RISC OS computer ever sold by a very large margin, (but then it's APDL, so it's bound to be incredible value!).

We have some high spec ex-demonstration Microdigital Mico's available. See the Special offers section.

Secondhand computers

We usually have a variety of secondhand machines in available. If you don't see what you want please ask as we can build a machine to your requirements, bigger hard drive, more RAM, Strong ARM processor, etc.

As well as the ones shown below we often have older machines such as A400, A540, A3000, A5000, etc. Some of these are in good working order, some not but suitable for spare parts. If you need a floppy drive, keyboard, power supply, whatever, for an old Acorn computer we just might have one.

  • A7000+.   All machines have CD ROM. Most have 1.2Gb hard drive and 16Mb RAM. Prices from just £64 ex VAT (about £75 inc. VAT). All now sold

  • RiscPC 600.   All with CD ROM and minimum 8Mb RAM and 420 Mb hard drive. Prices start at just £75 ex VAT (about £88 inc VAT). The cheapest way to get an upgradable RiscPC. We usually have RISC OS 3.6/7 and 710 processor upgrades available for these machines. All now sold byt we may have some more soon

  • RiscPC 700.   Series 3 (latest) motherboard, ATAPI CD ROM and minimum 16Mb RAM and 1 MB VRAM. Minimum 420Mb hard drive (add £7 for 1.2Gb). This is probably the best starting point if you want a low cost machine that is capable of being upgraded to the latest spec as your pocket allows. Prices start at just £105 ex VAT. All 700's now sold but we do still have a few Strong ARM machines.
If you want a higher spec machine then we can upgrade these units with more RAM, Strong ARM, RISC OS 4, bigger hard drive, CD writer, fast IDE i/face, whatever you want.

  • Strong ARM RiscPC.   Various machines available from 'basic' configurations with RISC OS 3.7, Turbo 265 processor, CD ROM, 2.5Gb hard drive, etc. up to machines with large hard drive, CD writer, 2 slices, even APDL fast IDE interface. Prices start at about £250 plus VAT.

  • A3020   From just £5. Actually, they're free, it's just that I charge £5 for checking it over before it's sent to make sure it's all working properly. All machines have 4Mb RAM, some might even have a hard drive (pot luck). All now gone but we still have a few with small hard drives (20-60Mb) for just £12 + carriage.

All the above machines are complete with mouse, keyboard and power lead except the A3020's which come without a mouse. Carriage is extra at cost, typically about £11 + VAT. Some machines may have school name and/or postcode etched into the case.

We can supply a 486 PC card with any RiscPC for just £10 extra and networks cards from just £30 extra.

  • Monitors   We have various secondhand monitors including Acorn AKF60/65, the standard 14" monitor as supplied with the RiscPC and A7000 models. These cost £24 + VAT or just £15 + VAT when purchased with a computer.

A RISC OS computer for the price of a BBC B
