We here at Mistigris productions would like to distance ourselves from the alarming trend of ripping which has been noted by several 'watchdogs-of-the-scene". We speak of course of this despicable practise of taking someone's artwork, the finished product of their sweat and blood, and of altering it somewhat, sometimes imperceptibly, and taking credit the final mess resulting from the alteration. We have below two pieces which seem to be absolute proof that the practise has been going on under our very noses. (PROOF? File originally from Platinum's logocolly of September 1996.} ..... ........ .... ............ ........ .......... ........ ::: ..... Pt Deep in a galaxy many light years away. . a collection of beings, a Space Farm. The Space Farm. . . hmm negros & their dogs being stolen by aliens! and now, the seeming IMPOSTOR! PROOF? From a picture by Sentience in the Mistigris Infofile, October}- Mist '96 Sentience ishame less . But wait. .. while there certainly are some similarities in the pictures (alien abductions in progress by green ships or ships with a green highlight in the front, dark background, uniform appearance of GREY when you go over the background in block mode) there are also some subtle nuances which could be hissed by he who is too eager to find a crime. Note that while in the first picture, the victims of the abduction-in- progress are a 'negro and his dog' while in the second picture it seems to be a bovine, possibly a cow, as indicated by its frantic 'moo!' ing. True, the negro could have been altered to look like a cow with some filling in of white and black spaces, but the dog seems to have disappeared altogther. Also to be noted is the presence of a large "Space Farm" logo on the first picture while it seems to be gone in the second. The appearance of the ship in question seems to be of a greenish hue in the second picture while the ships' colourations (there are twice as many of them) in the top picture is blue through and through. The grass is green in the first one, though. Possibly the clincher is looking with more detail at the teleportation beam itself. There is a clear gradient shown in the Sentience picture while Platinum's seems to be more or less cyan. Also to be considered is the fact that several witnesses, myself included will testify that one Jovian Francey, aka Sentience, was seen drawing this same loodle in CHALK on an overpass while waiting for a procession to the house of me Etana, aka Tina Cooper. The conclusions here are simple. Despite the fact that Platinum's picture was drawn, and hence released first, it is clear that the culprit has been mis- identified and that Platinum has in fact ripped, if only intellectually, the chalk sketchings of Sentience. Fear not, for his punishment has already been enacted - we've spat on him (in the process making him an honourary member of CARB) and paddled him firmly with squash rackets. Right now he's thinking out his crime in the basement cells next to those of Babyface and Trinity. Don't let it happen to you! The members of your own group could be at this very moment stealing each others' ideas. Well, don't let it happen to you group? This shame has nearly torn our group apart and we are only publicizing it to warn the good-intentionned group leaders out there that some people do silly things like writing satire and sticking it in an e-mag. Consider yourselves warned. This means YOU, Pedantik.
