Seriously, we're pretty happy with what we do here, and how far we've managed to come in only a year. I look back at episodes 1&2 nowadays (or worse, our Episode 0 beta) and think: "Blech. What were we THINKING?!"
As you have seen, the interview interface has been tweaked to make it a lot easier to use. We're still trying to find a way to change the interface screen and make it as nice as the rest of the mag and still run in 256 colors. As for the pop-up menus, we like them better than fixed (or floating, as you suggested) screen elements, since we don't like blocking the full-screen shots. Don't expect them to change anytime soon. (In fact, some members of our staff are pretty rabid about them. We keep having to talk them out of doing away with the interface entirely and replacing it with a bunch of pop-up menus.)
Anyway, I wouldn't worry about our viewers not knowing about the pop-up menu. Hey, everyone who just read this letter now knows about it, don't they?
