To erase a drawing:
1. Select the Drawing menu and choose the New command.
You will see a warning message.
2. Choose the Yes button.

To draw jointed lines:
1. Select the tool menu and choose the Jointed command.
2. Move the pointer to a starting point.

to an end point for the first line.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
6. Move the pointer to the end point for the next line.
7. Click the mouse or press the SPACEBAR key at each
succeeding end point.è 8. To finish drawing lines, move the pointer off the drawing
area and click the mouse or press the SPACEBAR key.
[88] Drawing a Curved Line
To draw a curved line:
1. Select the Tool menu and choose the Curved command.
2. Move the pointer to where you want the curve to begin.
3. Press and hold down the mouse button.
4. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys to move the pointer
to where you want the curve to end.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
A straight line appears between the two points.
5. Now press and hold down the mouse button or SPACEBAR
key again.
6. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys until the curve is
the shape you want.
7. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.

To draw a freehand line:
1. Select the Tool menu and choose the Freehand tool.
2. Move the pointer to a starting point.
3. Press and hold down the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
4. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys to draw the line.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.

To draw with the ellipse tool:
1. Select the Tool menu and choose the Ellipse command.
2. Move the pointer to a starting location.

is the size you want.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.

To draw a pie, first draw the pie circle:
1. Select the Tool menu and choose the Pie command.
2. Move the pointer to a starting location.
3. Press and hold down the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
4. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys until the pie is
the size you want.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
To draw one or more pie segments:
1. Move the line to where you want the first segment to begin.
2. Press and hold down the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
3. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys until the line is
where you want the pie segment to end.
4. Click the mouse or press the SPACEBAR key at each
succeeding pie segment.
5. To finish drawing pie segments, double-click the mouse or
move the pointer off the drawing area and click or press
the SPACEBAR key.
[91] Drawing a Polygon (p.175)
To draw a polygon:è 1. Select the Tool menu and choose the Polygon command.
2. Move the pointer to a starting point.
3. Press and hold down the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
4. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys to move to an end
point for the first side.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
6. Move the pointer to the end point for the next side.
7. Click the mouse or press the SPACEBAR key at each
succeeding end point.
8. To finish drawing the polygon, double-click the mouse or
move the pointer off the drawing area and click or press the
SPACEBAR key.
[92] Drawing a Rectangle (p.176)
To draw a rectangle with square corners:
1. Select the Tool menu and choose the Rectangle command.
Or, to draw a rectangle with rounded corners, select the
Tool menu and choose the Rounded Rect command.
2. Move the pointer to a location for one corner of the
rectangle.
3. Press and hold down the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
4. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys to move to a
location for the opposite corner.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.

To draw a region:
1. Select the Tool menu and choose the Region tool.
2. Move the pointer to a starting point.
3. Press and hold down the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
4. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys to draw the shape
you want.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.

To add text:
1. Select the Tool menu and choose the Text command.
2. Move the pointer to a starting point.

You will see the flashing insertion point.
4. Type the text.

6. Type another line of text.
Or, press ENTER to finish.

of objects you want to select.

4. Drag the mouse or use DIRECTION keys until the dotted
box surrounds the objects you want to select.
5. Release the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
Handles appear around the group of selected objects.
To select a group of objects one at a time:
1. Hold the SHIFT key down.
2. Click the objects or press SPACEBAR over the objects
you want to select.
Handles appear around all the selected objects.

To deselect objects:
1. Move the pointer to an area where there are no objects.
2. Click the mouse or press the SPACEBAR key.
Or,
* Select another object.
Or,
* Select the Tool menu and choose a drawing tool.
To deselect one from a group of objects:
1. Hold the SHIFT key down.
2. Click the object, or press SPACEBAR when the pointer
is over the object you want to deselect.

To move objects with the mouse:
1. Select one or more objects.
2. Move the pointer over the selected objects.
3. Press and hold down the mouse button or SPACEBAR key.
4. Drag the object(s) or use DIRECTION keys to move the
objects to a new location.

To change the size of an object:
1. Select the object you want to change.
