MOUSE! The cursor may be placed anywhere within the input
field by positioning the mouse cursor and pressing the left
button. To scroll the cursor beyond the limit of the input
field, highlight the corresponding arrow and press the left
button.
As shown in the example above, you will notice the
description is cut off. The description field is actually 74
characters long and can be scrolled within the window. Notice
as you are entering the description, the position in the field
is echoed to the top left of the screen. This shows the total
number of characters you are able to enter within the current
field. This is true throughout Switch input fields.
Once the name and description have been accepted, Switch
invokes its built-in editor. Switch's built-in editor is
specifically designed for creating a configuration. This is
where you enter you AUTOEXEC.BAT for this configuration. To
enter text, you can type as though you were using a
typewriter. If you have a preprepared AUTOEXEC.BAT file, you
may use the import feature. To use the import feature, press
<F2>. The imported file is inserted at the current cursor
cursor position. You will notice a pop-up menu with a list of
files. The pop-up import menu defaults path is C:\*.*. A
directory is indicated by (). A directory is a convenient way
to organize your floppy or hard disk files. The (..) is a name
for "the parent of the current directory." The parent is the
directory within which a directory exists. Every directory
except the root has a parent. Import DOS text files only,
otherwise you will import "garbage". Note that a scroll box is
displayed on the scroll bar indicating how far you are along the
list.

MOUSE! Highlight any option on the screen and invoke them by
pressing the left button. If nothing happens then the option
highlighted is not valid to the "import" menu. Pressing the

to scroll upwards. Pressing the right button will cause the
selection to scroll downwards.
To select the AUTOEXEC.BAT file that is going to
imported, you will need to locate the directory where the file
resides. Switch provides an easy way to locate the file. If
the file is located in the root directory of the boot drive
just press <Down Arrow>, or <Page Down> until you find the file
you want to import. If the file is not in the root directory,
highlight the subdirectory which is listed in parenthesis and
press <Enter>.
If the file is not located on the current drive, press
<F2>. <F2> Invokes the log feature which allows access to files
that are located on another logical drive.
