This version of Hustle is similar to the original arcade version put
out many years ago. The object of the game is to capture as many boxes
as you can to gain the most points.
You start the game with four Hustlers. The four arrow keys on the
numeric keypad are used to control the direction in which the Hustler
will travel. You must always avoid hitting the surrounding border
as this will result in the destruction of your Hustler.
You cannot go back on yourself either. The only valid targets that are
valid are the boxes which randomly appear on the screen. Boxes with
question marks in them (???) are worth between 100 and 1000 points.
These points can somtimes be negative though. There is no way of
knowing in advance whether you will gain or lose points on a particular
box.
As the game progresses and you obtain more and more points, the tail
of the Hustler grows longer and longer. Boxes will appear with slashes
inside them (/\/\/\). These are tail zap boxes and they cause the
Hustlers' tail to temporarily shorten.
An extra Hustler is awarded AFTER reaching 10000 and 20000 points.
Permanent top five scores are kept on disk at all times. You MUST
copy the file HUSTLE.DAT for the game to function properly.
In summary:
arrow keys - move in specified direction
F1 - increase speed of Hustler
F2 - decrease speed of Hustler
