THE OBJECT OF THIS GAME IS TO KEEP
THE `MATH CLIMBERS' FROM REACHING
THE TOP OF THE WALL. WHEN YOU
CORRECTLY ANSWER A PROBLEM IT WILL
VANISH FROM THE WALL. HOW HARD THE
GAME IS DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF
PROBLEM (LEVEL) AND NUMBER SIZE
(BASE) YOU CHOOSE TO WORK WITH.
THE PROBLEMS THAT SHOW UP ON THE
WALL MAY BE ANSWERED IN ANY ORDER.
WHEN YOU HAVE DECIDED ON AN ANSWER
YOU MUST ENTER IT INTO THE COMPUTER.
(SEE THE KEYBOARD EXPLANATION IF YOU
ARE NOT SURE HOW TO ENTER YOUR
ANSWERS.) YOUR ANSWER WILL APPEAR
IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE
SCREEN AS YOU TYPE IT.
THERE ARE 7 LEVELS TO CHOOSE FROM.
A MENU LISTING THE LEVELS WILL GIVE
YOU A CHOICE OF WHAT TYPE OF PROBLEM
YOU WANT TO WORK ON. LEVEL 1 COVERS
ADDITION AND LEVEL 2 IS SUBTRACTION.
LEVEL 3 COVERS MULTIPLICATION AND
LEVEL 4 IS DIVISION. LEVEL 5 IS A
MIXTURE OF THE MATH SKILLS USED IN
LEVELS 1 THRU 4.
LEVEL 6 COVERS ALGEBRA PROBLEMS
WHICH ASK YOU TO SOLVE FOR THE
ANSWER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE
EQUALS SIGN. THESE PROBLEMS USE
PARENTHESIS AND HAVE 3 NUMBERS TO
THE LEFT OF THE EQUALS SIGN.
LEVEL 7 IS ALSO ALGEBRA PROBLEMS. IT
IS DIFFERENT FROM LEVEL 6 IN THAT
LEVEL 7 ASKS YOU TO SOLVE FOR THE
UNKNOWN VARIABLE 'A'. VARIABLE 'A'
WILL BE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE
EQUALS SIGN. THESE PROBLEMS CAN
BE ESPECIALLY CHALLENGING IF YOU
CHOOSE A LARGE BASE NUMBER.
YOUR CHOICE OF THE BASE NUMBER WILL
HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH HOW HARD (OR
EASY) THE GAME IS. IF YOU CHOOSE A
SMALL BASE THEN 'MATH CLIMBERS' WILL
USE ONLY SMALL NUMBERS. LARGER BASE
NUMBERS WILL RESULT IN LARGER
NUMBERS BEING USED IN THE PROBLEMS.
